Lots of room for improvement...
I found Credit Karma about four years ago and LOVED it. This was before they had the app. The website had all the bells and whistles of credit 101.
Change is not always good.
Over time, they have changed the website quite a bit and created an app. The app is ok. I see a lot of reviews that find this app to be so helpful. The mock score they give you is not the only thing you should be looking at when monitoring your credit. You should be reviewing every little detail. The CK website used to allow this and it would be great if they would bring it back, and add it to the app. I enjoy the app for the ease of use, being on the go. But the data certainly isnt current. Ive made significant changes with my credit and would wait and wait for the change to finally reflect on my CK scores.. Nothing. Sometimes my score never updates and sometimes it takes weeks or months to show significant changes.
I appreciate that it is free to use. But one more thing- they have to pay the bills somehow. Ever notice how many offers there are for credit cards and loans? Its almost to the point that I dont even bother using CK anymore, its bogged down with all those offers in hopes of someone clicking on them and applying. The point is to help people monitor and improve their credit, no? Baiting for applications just doesnt seem like the best approach if thats really their goal.
